Mike Males is My New Hero!!!

As a former teen mom, the LA Times article entitled The Real Mistake in ‘teen pregnancy’ written by Mike Males spoke to me on such a personal level.

Not only did it place blame on the most common misnomer today that it’s not teens getting teens pregnant, but older men impregnating teens, but it also outted the fact that even when becoming a teen mom if you become responsible for your child and with a good support system, things will be OK. You’re life is not over and you’re not the biggest slut in the world, etc. The stigmatization of teen mothers is not effective in the least, but it only flourishes because these girls don’t have the emotional maturity to take on a very biased world without being traumatized. So in the end, they are not only being victimized by these men who manipulate them into thinking that all their BS promises are true, but they are then constantly being told they are bad stupid people for running their lives to birth babies that we as taxpayers will have to take care of, blah, blah, blah.

For all those teen moms that turned out OK…here’s a HUGE high five, baby!
